Carol Kirkwood was born and educated in England and earned a degree in fashion and textile design from the Leeds College of Art.
Her career began as a dress designer for the House of Worth in London. She subsequently opened a textile business selling printed scarves to couturiers in Europe and North America.
Carol has lived in the USA for many years and has a studio at her home in Haddonfield, NJ.
In the early 90’s Carol spent 3 years in Thailand and the unique landscape and culture inspired her to paint.
Under the tutelage of Charlee Sudprasert, a renowned Thai watercolorist, she developed her particular watercolor style.
With Charlee she had a very successful exhibition in Bangkok.
In 2001 and 2002 Carol spent a year in Hanoi,Vietnam and the unique architecture inspired some of her Asian watercolors.
On her return to the USA she exhibited at Juried shows in Massachusetts and New Jersey.
Carol studied portraiture at Incamminati Studio in Philadelphia and is now doing a series of portraits of teenagers along with fellow artists at Repenning Studios. She is also doing a series of landscapes and continues with still life studies.
